Sometimes I feel older by the day.  It feels like by brain cells have been dying since the moment I turned 40.  Names and faces are harder to put together and I have lists of lists so I can remember to do everything.

But there are still times when it is good to forget…..

I sometimes have an unforgiving state.  Whilst I’m kind and considerate with others, it is all to easy to forget to treat myself with the same courtesy.  How often I sit and berate myself over and over again for getting something wrong and not just big things, tiny tiny errors of judgement.  “What will people think of me?“, “What an idiot!!”.

If I don’t acknowledge these feelings, I carry them with me, resurrect them every time I do something similar to prove to myself that I really am an idiot.  What kind of self destruct cycle is this?

It’s the worst kind of self destruct so change it

So now, when I want to get rid of the negative feelings, I write them on little bits of paper, post it notes are really good for this, and then screw them up and throw them away, acknowledging that this was a temporary error of judgement.  I then take a fresh piece of paper and write something positive about myself and pin it up where I can see it.

Treating ourselves as we treat others is often difficult to achieve and can have an adverse affect on our self esteem.  If you would like to increase your self esteem or confidence levels, give Carolyn a call on 07714 216388 today to book your free consultation to see if coaching could help you with your goals.
