I’m working on a very special project at the moment. ‘Ebb and Flow’ is my final project for my Foundation Degree in Creative Practice. I’ve been working from my own photographs and learning to use felting techniques to create a wonderful, impact-full, textural depiction on the environmental impact of the tide along Britain’s coast.
At least that’s my intention. Right now i’m in the throws of terror and panic that accompany the final stages of a project like this. Will it all come together? Will it be professional enough to exhibit at Astound2019 in June? It’s fine when I’m producing my silver pendants to sell, I’ve been doing them for a while and have confidence in my abilities. But this is new territory, new skills and its all rather exciting….
The concept is about the effects of the tide on Britain’s coastline. With every ebb and flow our landscape changes a little. We fight the tide by building sea defenses but often nature wins. The evidence is everywhere from the barriers, groynes and walls we build to the lichen and barnacles that gets left behind by the sea. It’s a symbiotic relationship.
I hope you’ll stay with me throughout April and May to see how my project progresses and if you want to see more then please follow my facebook page .
Many of my creations are available in my online shop. Do check it out. But I also sell locally at the Sunday Supplement Market – 1st Sunday of every month or contact me directly on 07714 216388 for a private viewing.
