It was destined to be one of those mornings when Ziggy and I had a bit of a run in with the cows in the field.  He’s terrified of them, I fit into the “not too sure” category.  His choice of action is to run at them and bark – mine is to run away.

We of course found them all huddled around the small gate we needed to use.  It took a bit of shouting, barking and general “gruffing” noises to clear them but we did it and carried on with our walk.

Our big challenge well out of the way, we continued on our lovely canal-side walk and then onto my road where a truck was depositing a line of cones onto the road to change traffic flow.  By themselves those innocent plastic cones aren’t a problem, it’s the clanking and grinding or drilling that they represent that make Ziggy try and disappear up his own backside.  As I walked and wondered why they could possibly be digging up the road this time, my curiosity turned to dismay as I remembered the letter from the power company sitting in the hall and I racked my brain to figure out what time they were going to turn the power off.

It was 8.45 when I put the key in the lock.  The letter stated 9am as I darted around the house, toweling Ziggy’s wet fur with one hand, filling a washing up bowl with another whilst making a brew and diving for a shower.  I emerged 10 minutes later, brew in hand rather pleased that my new laptop runs well on its battery before realising I had no WIFI.

Whilst I like a story with a good moral – there is a a lesson in here for me about being more organised and my learning point for today is:

Where possible organise your desk and to do list the night before so you know exactly what the day ahead holds.

If time management causes a lack of organisation in your life, give me, Carolyn a call on 07714 216388 to see how I can help.
