Life’s been pretty manic since about April when all my Uni deadlines started to hit. Graduation seems a little flat. It seems strange that my part time college life has ended (for now) – it’ll be Sept/Oct time before I get to hire a cap and gown.
I’m catching up with things at home and we’ve just been to spend 10 days with some very good friends in Cornwall. It’s been brilliant just kicking back, spending some time on the beach walking barefoot in the sand. Cornwall is a brilliant place to look at work of other artists too, from cluttered tumbling depictions of Cornish harbour landscapes, to large scale textured paintings of crashing waves. I wanted to buy everything.

Coming home had its own challenges, a stretched cam-chain on our humble little Skoda Fabia led to a rather large bill and a delayed return but that’s just life and I’m grateful it didn’t break on the motorway. We also had an egg lobbed at us from a footbridge as we returned home to Staffordshire, so thanks for the welcome back it wasn’t really necessary – fortunately there was no damage.
So now I need to get back to normal. I’ve over 1000 photos to look through, sort out the wheat from the chaff and play with some ideas – that’ll take time. I also need to knuckle down, come up with some new jewelry designs and start to focus on building my sales.
