Whether you hate your job completely or just have a few off moments, we all have those days that are harder than others. The days when scraping together just a little motivation can feel like trying to carry water in a sieve are the days we flag the most and can feel like an uphill battle.
I get days like this. Days when all the bills arrive and no client bookings, days when all my meetings cancel and days when that next holiday seems a long way away.
Its easy to get things out of perspective. I’m working hard to build a business – some days money will be tight, others 3 clients will settle outstanding invoices. The days when meetings cancel mean I can tackle the outstanding admin and it’s very easy to forget that I’m only 2 weeks back from my holiday to Norway.
So when I’m feeling low – I now use a “Happy List”. These are the things that I know make me happy and include day long fell walks with Brett, spending time with my dog, and feeling healthy. None of these things physically cost very much – so for me its just about making time to plan these things regularly and remind me why I work so hard.
