It’s just over a month now since I sat down and wrote out my blog post entitled “Time To Get Organised“. It’s worth a read if you have time. But in short it was written to encourage me to change a habit or two based on the 21 days to change a habit principle.
I’m reasonably pleased with my success. I set about changing 6 habits over 6 weeks. We are now over 4 weeks on and I’ve only tackled 2 habits. The 1st was to reduce my procrastination by limiting my social media and email time and only checking in a few times a day.
This has made a HUGE difference, although because I’ve found it really hard to do I’ve not been consistent over 21 days so I wouldn’t say its become a habit – YET! I’m still working on it and am confident I will get there.
Just 2 weeks ago I shared my messy tabletop on my blog – even I cringe when I see it – so my next change was to create just 3 piles on my desk.
- The stuff I intend to deal with today
- The stuff i will deal with this week
- Anything new that comes in – and then applying a ditch, deal or diary approach.
I’ve been really pleased with this and feel like I’m finally removing some clutter and ticking stuff off my to do list.
My next habit is to post something positive every (working) day on my facebook page if you want to pop over there, like my page and select get notifications – you can monitor this one yourself.
In the meantime here’s a pic of my slightly improved work space.
