I’ve spent a lifetime fading into the background. The majority of my working career was spent head down, “Doing a good job” then feeling bitter for not being noticed for it or someone else getting credit for a project. Other colleagues would be asked to work on projects, or later in life in business it is now important for me to be noticed in networking meetings.
So here are 5 tips on making yourself more memorable:
- Show curiosity and interest in others.
- Don’t interrupt
- Be Yourself – Enjoy The Conversation
- Make an extra effort to remember and use peoples names
- Invite people to join you for coffee or lunch – don’t wait to be asked.
They’re simple but effective.
