OMG admin!, juggling 3 businesses, working from home and the mess it creates, social media that takes over my life, keeping on top of the house and garden, 2 dogs that need exercise and stimulation, the list just goes on and on…

I have tried everything, from clearing my inbox to zero thank you productivity Ninja, to turning off my social media.  Making lists, destroying to do lists, and using the “F**k It” approach by John Parkin – and yes that’s genuine if you’ve not come across it – don’t dismiss it – google it.

Everything works for a fraction of time and I seem unable to sustain my new working habits for long.

Psychology tells me it takes 21 days to form a habit.  By changing something and repeating that action day after day for 21 days it becomes a new hopefully healthier habit.  Lets face it switching on facebook and email as my first action everyday has become a habit for me.

I’m also a believer in making small changes.  Small changes are much easier to implement and make a habit of than making huge changes.

So over the next 6 weeks I’m going to make 6 small changes and practice them for 21 days.  Who wants to watch my journey?

The first change is checking email and social media at 2 points during the day.  First thing, lunchtime and last thing during my working day.

  1. OMG, I need to do this habit forming again. It works amazingly. I will use my google calendar and set a recurring reminder for 21 days for each Habit I want to form 😉 Will watch your post and replicate… 🙂
